For design and construction teams transitioning to working with full-blown BIM models in the field, PlanGrid 2.2 is an iPad app that syncs PDF construction drawings for project team members. Capable of storing up to 30,000 PDF project sheets in the cloud, PlanGrid allows team members to view, markup, and update drawings, respond to RFIs, and share user notes and photography via their iPads. Features of the latest app release include email notifications to team members about project documentation changes and update histories. PlanGrid, which recently took second place at the 2012 Saint Gobain Nova Innovation Competition, is free for up to 50 pages of storage.
