Metl-Span has introduced the CFR Insul-Solar insulated solar standing-seam roof system. It uses a thin-film photovoltaic laminate that is fused to the surface of the roofing panel substrate, and this bond can withstand winds of up to 160 mph. The system’s flexibility and durability make it suitable for metal roofs where expansion and contraction need to be considered. No roof penetrations or additional structural support is required. Widths are available in 36″ and 42″ with various panel thicknesses and lengths.
