Living Future Conference Set for May 2-4

The International Living Future Institute will host its Living Future 2012 Conference May 2-4 in Portland, Ore. With the theme of “Women Reshaping the World,” the event will include interactive presentations, tours, and experiential activities that encourage an embrace of regional and global economic, ecologic, and social challenges and offer solutions addressing these challenges at the building and city scale.

Speakers include:
–Jason F. McLennan, CEO of the International Living Future Institute and the Cascadia Green Building Council. McLennan is the founder and creator of the Living Building Challenge, one of the most progressive and stringent green building programs in the world.
–Physicist and ecologist Dr. Vandana Shiva, director of the Research Foundation for Science, Technology, and Natural Resource Policy in Dehradun, India.
–Author Carol Sanford, who has led major consulting change efforts in both Fortune 500 and new-economy businesses. She is the author of The Responsible Business: Reimagining Sustainability and Success.

The conference will also offer a trade show, workshops, and educational events on subjects such as Understanding the Living Building Challenge, Net-Zero Energy, and the Renewal of Existing Residential Buildings.
