NEMA Lighting Systems Index Rises During Q2 2015

Demand for emergency lighting and fixtures drove the increase, while ballast and lamp components declined.

Demand for lighting equipment increased 2.2 percent year-over-year during the second quarter of 2015, according to the Lighting Systems Shipments Index in the latest economic report by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). The index also rose 0.4 percent quarter-to-quarter.

Following trends from the first quarter of the year, emergency lighting and fixtures grew on a year-over-year basis, while ballasts and lamp components–both large and miniature–offset these gains with year-over-year drops.
