Advance Establishes ‘Beyond Illumination’ Scholarships Through IALD

1 MIN READ

What better way to celebrate an anniversary than to drive the future of the community that supports you, giving a nod to the spirit in which you were founded? With this idea in mind, Advance, a leading ballast manufacturer and a division of Philips, has established the ‘Beyond Illumination’ scholarships to commemorate its 60th birthday this year. The Goal: To support exceptional young talent and drive the next generation of lighting innovation; to back the pursuit of ongoing interest and specialized education in the field of lighting; and open up the opportunity for exciting new possibilities.

The scholarships, with a total contribution of $60,000, will be awarded through the IALD Education Trust to twelve students – each receiving $5,000 – two annually over the next six years. The recipients of this year’s award, Kotone Frankowski and Yeune Kyue Kim, are two deserving students from Parsons School of Design.
