Energy Star Challenge Deadline is April 30

The Energy Star Challenge will recognize projects designed to earn Energy Star labels during the 2010 American Institute of Architects’ National Convention in Miami. The deadline to submit projects for consideration is April 30.

Projects submitted for consideration must achieve an Environmental Protection Agency rating for estimated energy use of 75 or higher, and the architect of record for the project must be an Energy Star partner. Projects also must be at least 95 percent complete with construction documents, and the buildings cannot be occupied or generating utility bills. Eligible facility types include offices, courthouses, bank and financial institutions, K-12 schools, supermarkets and grocery stores, retail (big box) stores, hospitals, medical offices, hotels, residence halls and dormitories, warehouses (both refrigerated and non-refrigerated), and houses of worship.
