Project Description
Xi’an Jinyu is a mixed-use development which comprises a mega shopping mall and three high-end apartment towers. The project is situated in a very prominent area which is adjacent to the 2nd city ring’s Xinjiamiao primary interchange and metro station. Not only serving the community, the mall also becomes the retail destination for the north-eastern area of Xi’an City.
The floating lantern lookalike boxes adorn the overall façade design of the shopping mall. The inspiration came from the discreet Xi’an traditional street inside the ancient city wall, the hidden gem of Xi’an. The dynamic traditional roofs that pop along the city wall recall the impression of floating lanterns. It is important to give a strong identity to the project with contemporary outlook and yet with high regard of the local identity. The façade design adopts the traditional elements as well as colour to tribute the character of the city.
