This shingle style home in Westport CT was designed for a developer as a “tear-down” on a 2 acre lot in Westport near Long Island Sound. Previous owners had built an indoor pool attached to the existing house. The indoor pool was saved & remodeled, with a 7500 SF shingle style house designed to tie into it.
A front covered porch leads to a turret entry, which then opens into a large entry hall that the living room & dining room are adjacent to. The second floor consists of a master bedroom suite and 4 bedrooms.
Cedar shingle finished with bleaching oil are an appropriate choice for siding given the proximity of the house to the Long Island Sound, which is just a few hundred feet away. White stained trim completes the classic shingle style look.
