Located in a distressed area in Stockton subject to crime and blight, this acquisition/rehabilitation thoroughly transformed the once dilapidated project of 90 affordable family units, improving the standard of living via better indoor air quality, energy savings, and a refreshed community identity. Site improvements included reducing parking for landscaped and trellised picnic areas, new hardscape, and robust tree and shrub planting. A new residents’ community building with laundry center and adjacent tot lot was added to the development.
