Project Description
Monterrey, the third most populous city and the highest GDP in Mexico, is in the midst of an architectural renaissance. With more than 45 skyscrapers over 100 meters tall developed in the last five years, this diverse and competitive aesthetic environment creates the opportunity for distinctive geometry and place-making. The project’s driving strategy has been to discover a profoundly simple, pure form that projects the region’s spirit of optimism. The ground level pedestrian experience promotes a sense of place, with spaces that work to catalyze interaction between the development’s public and private population across gardens, plazas, retail shops and restaurants.
IKON Tower is positioned on one of the most important highway thoroughfares in the city. It’s singular sculpted form is shaped to maximize the impression of movement and reflection to the thousands passing by. The building’s open, light filled architecture and offset elevator core allows for maximum views and flexibility for tenants. The design features a series of sky gardens stacked vertically at every third floor. These elevated gardens emerge as a projection of the natural and organic topography that surrounds Monterrey.
