Project Description
EDGEBOX is a new single family residence located in the heart of Magnolia Glen, two blocks north of the award winning Periscope House, also designed by Peter Nicholas of NDC. The house is distinctive in its style but respectful to its neighbors and true to the pattern of the block in which it sits.
The exterior is clad in variegated, fish scale like stainless steel shingles along with complimentary stucco and stained cedar. The interior main living, dining and kitchen spaces have over 12 foot high ceilings and polished concrete floors. The entire house will be conditioned with geothermal heating and air conditioning and will have many other energy saving features.
The site is an oversized lot but purposely not overbuilt in order to provide generous yard space and to provide seamless indoor-outdoor living. Exterior spaces are designed as additional living spaces to work in concert with interior spaces. A generous rooftop deck offers city views and privacy from the street.
The house is designed with the same attention to detail and quality materials as we would use in any of our custom houses for private clients, but is being offered as a “for sale” product.
The house is designed, developed and will be built by the architect.
