Project Description
As standards for patient care have advanced, our firm developed a master plan to convert all Columbia Memorial Hospital’s shared patient rooms into private rooms with toilets. The first phase of this plan was implemented in 2004 with a fourth floor renovation. In 2013, the masterplan was updated to reflect the current standards and codes, and was implemented on the sixth floor of the hospital. The renovated sixth floor includes 18 private med/surg bedrooms; each with a family area and private toilets, averaging over 250 SF. The renovation also includes modular headwall units, sustainable finishes, and satellite nurse stations located to allow constant patient visibility with minimal foot traffic for staff.
