Project Description
Casa Tua Cucina, an 18,000-sf gourmet single-user food hall concept, is an elegant, upscale Italian cuisine experience in the new Saks Fifth Avenue in Miami. The designers were challenged to create a dining experience compatible with a luxury shopping aesthetic. The designers utilized drop ceilings above food stations to frame the size of the space and reflect the intimate feel of the rustic cuisine. Exposed cross-beams highlight the in-situ nature of Casa Tua, existing within the space. The bespoke grate and glass façade produce a dichotomy of connection and separation within the larger store. Tables and chairs were customized for Casa Tua and were the product of the design team working in collaboration with Restoration Hardware. Brick-lined wood-fire ovens offer an old-world contrast to the sleek and modern grey Carrara marble and light wood finishes. Muted finishes stage the cuisine, and its pop of color, as the star of the show.
