The Environments for Aging Conference seeks presentation proposals on universal design tips and strategies from design and custom home pros

The Roosevelt New Orleans, a Waldorf Astoria hotel, houses the annual Environments for Aging Conference from April 7-10, 2013. Sponsored by the Center for Health Design, the conference offers numerous educational courses, events, and discussions focused on creating healthy, comfortable, attractive, and accessible residences based on universal design principles. Builders, architects, engineers, interior designers, government officials, educators, and aging specialists are invited to send in topic proposals to lead sessions on creating these built environments.Presentations should fit into one of the planned educational tracks, which include innovative housing, urban planning and community design, aging-in-place, sustainable design, remodeling existing houses and residential facilities, international perspectives on senior housing, and more. Proposals can be submitted online and must be completed by 5 p.m. PST on Aug. 10.
