Architecture for Humanity’s Art Auction

1 MIN READ

The nonprofit Architecture for Humanity is auctioning off over 70 artworks by architects as a fundraising effort. AfH asked the participating architects, who include Frank Gehry, Michael Graves, Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers, and Richard Meier, to show why they love architecture–and, as expected, the question elicited a wide range of imaginative responses.

I was pleased to also see some of our past story subjects on the list, including Marlon Blackwell, 5468796 architecture, Michelle Kaufmann, and Peter Bohlin. (The 18-by-18-inch pastel above is by John Lee of BAR Architects, whose San Francisco office space we covered last year.) Hand sketches, painting, prints, models, and more are available–the auction ends this Friday, though, so if you’re interested, move quickly.–M.D.
