Film buffs and architects alike have cause to rejoice: the second annual Architecture & Design Film Festival is coming to New York on Oct. 19. The five-day event will feature 32 films, plus panel discussions and Q&A sessions. (residential architect’s sister magazine, ARCHITECT, is one of the festival’s sponsors.)

Of particular interest to residential architects, says festival founder and director Kyle Bergman, AIA, will be the film Architect of Dreams, about New Zealand architect Ian Athfield. Others with a residential bent include EAMES: The Architect and the Painter; Volume Zero: The Work of Charles Correa; The Pruitt-Igoe Myth; Robert A.M. Stern: 15 Central Park West and the History of the New York Apartment House; and Passive Passion (a film about Passive Houses).

Take a look at the complete schedule. Continuing education hours are available for attendees, and AIA members and students will receive discounted tickets. The festival will travel to Chicago in the spring, according to Bergman.
