CURBED‘s Barbara Eldredge takes a look at one of the many construction projects underway near the site of the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeonchang, South Korea: a tiny residence designed to host visitors to the events based in the Gangneung area.
Designed by Seoul-based The Plus Partners and Maryland firm DNC Architects, “Tiny House of Slow Town” features a windowed living room, bath, kitchenette, and sleeping loft. It was built with eco-friendly materials to leave behind minimal environmental impact.
Because Gangwon, the host province of the Games, lacks sufficient accommodation for the anticipated influx of visitors, the “Slow Town” initiative plans to design a series of small wooden residences like this to provide sustainable housing during the event.
