To get a fresh perspective on the new Renzo Piano Pavilion at the Kimbell Art Museum, ARCHITECT commissioned noted architectural photographer Richard Barnes to catalog the new Fort Worth, Texas, museum building, designed by Renzo Piano, Hon. FAIA. Barnes’s shoot in December 2013 coincided with a powerful, and deadly, Texas snow and ice storm—one of the worst to hit the region in years. Undaunted, Barnes captured the new pavilion in the pale winter sunlight that has intrigued so many architects, and brought back photos of the new building in a serenely snowy post-storm landscape.
