Reader Poll Results: Can Large Houses Be Called “Green”?

EcoHome readers are divided on the size issue.

As part of an editorial last week, we asked readers if large houses that follow green certification programs could carry the label of “green.” After tallying the votes, it’s apparent there’s an extremely divided jury. Though the majority of respondents (53%) answered “Yes,” it was still nearly a 50/50 split.

Among those respondents indicating that large houses should not be called green, the majority believe anything more than 2,000 sqaure feet is not green, followed by anything over 2,500 square feet.

Don’t forget to participate in this week’s Instant Poll, “The Perceived Costs of Green.”
