Manufacturers Join NEMA Ballast Program

Universal Lighting Technologies, Philips Advance, and Osram Sylvania are the first three manufacturers to join the National Electrical Manufacturers Assocation’s (NEMA) Premium Electronic Ballast Program.

The voluntary program is designed to promote NEMA-branded high-efficiency electronic products, which includes either instant-start or programmed-rapid start fixed-output electronic ballasts designed for use with four-foot 32W T8 fluorescent lamps. A special mark will be attached to products designating their inclusion in the Premium Electronic Ballast Program. According to the organization, the program will make high-efficiency ballasts readily identifiable for easier specification.
