An architecture firm in Kazakhstan has created a new kind of modern tree house that’s also eco-friendly and uses a small footprint that leaves the natural elements of a site undisturbed, reports Houston Chronicle staffer Heather Leighton. A. Masow’s design is a circular glass residence that is built around a grand fir tree at the core of the structure.
“The design is intended to foster “more fusion with nature” and to encourage the house residents to “give up some unnecessary conditions and things,” the architects say on their website. “The house has to be something that can only develop your spiritual and creative development.”
The firm claims that the house can provide its own electricity, heat, and water. Through the many levels of stairs, residents would have a kitchen, bath, living room, bedroom and sitting room.
