Project Description
Formerly a subsidiary of Intuit, Digital Insight develops innovative digital banking solutions for regional banks and credit unions throughout the U.S. Finding a new place to call home also came with the opportunity to explore a new identity. Huntsman’s task was to develop a design language that no only evoked Digital Insight’s image but also the history of banking through the modern age. The design team took cues from the early days of teller lines to the recent advances in technology that streamline how financial institutions currently work. The visual narrative starts immediately at the elevator lobby to the suite; a wallcovering of safety deposit boxes and a reclaimed vault door mark first impressions. A coffered ceiling above the lobby and curtains made of pen chains allude to details found in grand banking halls. In the open work areas, neighborhoods are defined by the building’s floor plate which is comprised of three planes interlocking at angles. At these intersections, the design team created booths where staff can have impromptu meetings or do more focused work away from their desks. A perforated metal ceiling panel inspired by the punch cards used in early data processing lines the corridors of these intersections where project rooms, phone booths, and private offices are located. To complete the brand story, a commissioned art program depicts the evolution of banking customer service, checking, advertising campaigns, and technology. With the foundation of banking demonstrated all around them, Digital Insight can look towards the future of where banking can go.
