Project Description
With a hilltop site, the design takes advantage of the natural surroundings and views over the landscape. We semi-submerged the house, carving outdoor living areas into the hillside. This protected courtyard extends out from the interior living spaces to provide year-round access to the outdoors. A rhythm of floor-to-ceiling windows and Shou Sugi Ban siding define the exterior. The large windows bring in abundant natural light and borrowed landscape views into all of the interior rooms.
