SGA is revolutionizing how buildings are designed and built. By integrating the design, development, and construction teams, Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) enables SGA to complete projects on schedule and under budget. SGA is incorporating the project delivery method on the firm’s most expensive and complex architecture and interior design commissions, highlighted by 50+60 Binney Street, the gateway to the Alexandria Center at Kendall Square (ACKS), a 2.6 million square foot urban science and technology campus in the heart of Cambridge, MA’s Kendall Square.
Totaling 900,000 square feet, 50+60 Binney Street, two 10-story, state-of-the-art hybrid laboratory-office buildings were built for Alexandria Real Estate Equities (ARE), the largest and leading REIT uniquely focused on collaborative science campuses in urban innovation clusters. Tenants began occupying the development in April of 2017. The development is LEED Gold certified.
