Project Description

In 1990, the city of Denver was in desperate need of a new library, after their original one was condemned in 1953. After voting for a $91 million bond to add onto the Fisher and Fisher/Burnham Hoyt building, the City of Denver commissioned Michael Graves to design a new one. Designed in collaboration with Denver firm Klipp Colussy Jenks Debois, the 540,000 -square-foot structure is beside the Denver Art Museum.

The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
