Designer Brad Ascalon takes on the task of reinterpreting Greek mythology with his Atlas side and coffee tables. In this rendition, the “heavens and earth” are swapped with a solid stone top and the “shoulders” of Atlas with an elegant wood frame. The result: a contemporary occasional table that can be worked into a range of aesthetics without Zeus’ intervening wrath. The tables’ surface is available in travertine, white arabascato, or black marble with an American walnut wood base. Design Within Reach. 800.944.2233. www.dwr.com.
