After shooting up 20 points in July, the National Electrical Manufacturers Association‘s (NEMA) Electroindustry Business Conditions Index, a broad category that focuses on North American electrical industry manufacturers, deflated by 15 points in August, falling to 52.5.
The report is based on responses provided by panelists, senior managers at NEMA member companies, who predict current and future business conditions.
Looking ahead to the rest of the year, NEMA’s report indicates that 35 percent of panelists expect business conditions to improve over the next six months, up from 30 percent last month. Meanwhile, 25 percent expect conditions to deteriorate, an increase from 20 percent the previous month. Forty percent expect little change in the business environment between now and early 2016.
