Firm Description

Salient - a multidisciplinary design studio operating from Kolkata, lead by Vivek Singh Rathore, Design Principal, has a vision to evolve the new age value system in Indian design environment.

The studio was established in the year 2005. The team is supported by partner and Landscape Principal Anuradha Rathore, 8 associates and over a 40 members consisting of architects, planners, environmentalists, artists, interior designers, graphic designers, landscape architects, engineers, carpenters and economists.

Design is “Discovery” and “Creation” is nothing but a modification of our relationships” drives the entire ethos of the organisation.

A rich research based approach is key to Studio’s design philosophy. The inclination to environment, spirituality, Indian culture remodels Studio’s imagination and engines its inspirations. The design expression consciously delves in evolving variety getting inspired from THE CONTEXT. 

Pursuance of dharma through design has driven many clients to interpret the architecture as a sensible response to a society and the needs.

The Studio is conferred with over 80 design awards till today including 15 international mentions.

All designs by Studio aim in achieving green building certification, optimise capital cost, minimise operational costs, evaluate and evolve new operational modules, reinstate local landscape and biodiversity.
