The concept that shaped the Chihuahua Businessmen Foundation’s building in Juarez, Mexico, comes from a physical representation of the Foundation’s four core values, through tessellated aluminum panel volumes that comprise the main elements on the façade. These folded aluminum plates allow shifting reflections of sunlight during the course of the day, with programmed LEDs contributing to a dynamic exterior after nightfall. One of the challenges presented by specifying folded aluminum was finding contractors willing to work with single sheets of the material, but once realized, the sheet logic employed reduced waste to three percent.
