United Nations Building, New York by Harrison & Abramovitz et al. Conceived in the late '40s and completed in 1952, the UN Building was the collaborative effort of a dream team of architects from around the world. The team was headed by American Wallace K. Harrison and included France's Le Corbusier and Sweden's Sven Markelius. The UN Complex comprises four buildings: Secretariat, the General Assembly, the Conference Building and the Dag Hammarskjold Library. The UN has been called the ultimate realization of the International Style.

From iconic images that capture the rise of Modernism to lesser-known prints celebrating industry and mechanization, the book brings to light the full range of work of the celebrated shutterbug, whose archives started the Esto photography house.
