Product: Dow Solar Dow Powerhouse Solar Shingles

Photovoltaics continue to make their way into more building products. In 2009, Dow Solar merged the weather protection offered by the tried-and-true form of the asphalt roofing shingle with the energy-generating potential of CIGS thin-film photovoltaic cells to create Dow Powerhouse Solar Shingles. Manufactured in Michigan, the 22.8″-wide-by-10″-high and 0.5″-thick shingles are being gradually rolled out throughout the United States. • dowsolar.com
